Filmotech

A large collection of movies can be managed more efficiently with a specialized application, such as Filmotech. This particular application has everything you need to build and maintain your database quickly and easily. It lets you specify a wide range of details for each movie, it provides various statistics and it can retrieve information from the Internet. The application is offered free of charge, for Mac OS X and Windows and you can install it in just a few seconds.

Filmotech presents your movies in a list, in the central region of its user interface. You can view information about a selected movie, as well as its poster, on the right side of the interface. It is also possible to filter the movies, to show the ones you have not seen, latest additions or lent items. Of course, you can simply type a keyword in a search bar if you are looking for a particular movie. What's more, the application lets you search for movies by title, year, actors and many other criteria.

New database entries can be created on a drawer panel, on which you have to fill in a series of input fields with relevant information. Alternatively, you can simply click a button labeled "Internet", in the upper right corner of this panel to retrieve all the information from the Internet. If you have already filled in a movie's title, the application will start searching right away, without asking for any further user input.

Once the application finds one or more results for a movie, you only need to select one and click a button. This will add everything there is to know about a movie to your database. The information includes the movie's year, genre, plot, actors, director and much more.
